hello, thanks for your response.
yes, we are sharing an osa card between the lpars. one of the newer ones i believe. as far the the magic goes, are there any documented techniques? regards, steve "Peter Webb, Toronto Transit To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Commission" cc: <Peter.Webb@ttc Fax to: .ca> Subject: Re: FTP and Telnet not working Sent by: Linux in linux 390 lpars on 390 Port <[EMAIL PROTECTED] ARIST.EDU> 03/01/2002 09:03 AM Please respond to Linux on 390 Port Are you by any chance sharing an OSA card between the LPARS? IIRC with the older (maybe newer ones too) OSA cards, you cannot talk between LPARS when the card is shared. You may have to do some magic with a router to get it to work. > -----Original Message----- > From: Steve Gear Schneider Technical Services [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Friday, March 01, 2002 9:58 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: FTP and Telnet not working in linux 390 lpars > > hello, > > i can, > ping, ftp, telnet from the outside to the linux lpars > ping, ftp, telnet from inside the linux lpars to the outside > i cannot, > ping, ftp, telnet from linux lpar to linux lpar > > regards, > steve > > > > Rob van der > Heij To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > <[EMAIL PROTECTED] cc: > > Fax to: > Sent by: Linux Subject: Re: FTP and Telnet > not working > on 390 Port in linux 390 lpars > <[EMAIL PROTECTED] > ARIST.EDU> > > > 02/28/2002 > 02:38 PM > Please respond > to Linux on 390 > Port > > > > > > At 20:50 28-02-02, you wrote: > >hello, > > > > i have 3 linux lpars running on the same CEC. i can ftp and telnet > from > >the linux lpars out to other servers, however i cannot ftp or telnet from > >one linux lpar to another or from an outside client into the linux lpars. > > Is telnet and ftp enabled on your Linux LPARs at all ?
