Is IPv6 a standard protocol? Should z/VM physical and virtual layers support
standard protocols? Across all guest OS? Where do you draw the line$$$?

Better yet, enhance it to accept a complete layer 2 802.3 Ethernet or
SNAP frame from the guest, and let us decide what we put in the layer 2
frame. That would give us SNA, IPX, NETBIOS, or any other protocol
currently supported in Linux that we might want without having to
involve IBM in coding support for this protocol or that protocol -- it
doesn't make sense to have you guys in the middle.
