The many problems associated with having multiple interfaces and hence ip
addresses associated with a given host can be overcome by the use of a VIPA
(and Source VIPA).

If all IP packets between client and server always have the same DEST and
SRC IP addresses then both will be happy regardless of the route traversed
by the actual IP packets themselves. This also allows you to implement more
High Availability scenarios by using multiple routes and dynamic routing
(Zebra/Quagga).

The though of putting *all* IP addresses into the DNS sounds way too much
like overkill, make the computers do the work ;-)
