My apologies for the silly question(s).

I am installing Linux in a new LPAR under z/VM 510.

Er, which? LPAR, or under z/VM?

All is OK - the 3270 session says to logon and run Yast. I logon
successfully but when I try to run Yast I get an error.
I had quite a few problems installing Linux the first time and
thought that
I had everything sorted out. Obviously not.
The doc is below. Any help would be appreciated.

You've gotta run YaST from a character-addressible terminal in CBREAK
mode....which means, ssh in with a Unix terminal emulator, not a
3270. Which is why:

*** login using 'ssh -X [EMAIL PROTECTED]' ***

*** run 'yast' to start the installation ***

In short: run yast from your ssh session, not your console 3270 session.
