Your problem description sounds _very_ much like you did have the disks on
multiple guests online at the very same time.

Given that I use both z/VM and the 2.6.x. dasd device driver (that is in sles9)
every day, and I never see such things happen although we do frequently take 
down
our VMs (iocds changes, new microcode for testing etc.), could you please 
doublecheck
whether that also happens with third extended filesystem?
