Most certainly. If you're only talking about just a few systems it is
probably not worth to have all the trouble associated with "cloning"
systems etc. Depending on your configuration it may make sense to use
the working Linux server to format the disks that you plan to use for
the 2nd install, and maybe prepare a pack with the bootstrap files (to
avoid the IPL from DVD or even tape). If you want to share data
between the Linux systems you probably would be better off using NFS
rather than playing around with shared DASD.

And if you plan to use your z/OS test LPAR to run Linux rather than
z/OS, be aware that your Linux system would have access to all the
(production) DASD that your test z/OS could access. A single typo may
be enough to wipe out some MVS data (this is often not helpful in
getting management backing for your Linux project).
