Mark, Thanks for the response - we were able to add a directory opt/something and get by! We don't have anything like LVM set up yet but if we proceed with this project, sounds like we should do something like that. I'm sure you'll be hearing more questions from us in the future :)

I would add the 3390-3 to the system use YaST to create a LVM volume group add the new disk to the volume group create a logical volume large enough to hold the application update /etc/fstab to mount the LV on /opt/appldir (At least I hope the application has its own subdir) If /opt is already a separate disk volume, and you still ran out of space, you could make the LV mount /opt, and add the old disk to the Volume Group as well as the new disk. > Thanks for your patience with a noob. You're welcome. This list is pretty friendly to others if they're friendly to us. :) Mark Post ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 LEGAL DISCLAIMER The information transmitted is intended solely for the individual or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material.
