Wasn't there an fcp update at some point that was necessary, even if you
weren't using fcp for your guest? I seem to recall, long ago, running into
this. Might not have been fcp, but it was definitely something we weren't
using, but not having the fix bolloxed up things fairly completely.

Might this be something similar? New code in SLES 10 that takes advantage of
a PTF not currently on z/VM at the levels being discussed?
