I'm not sure just how much of this you're looking to validate. Certainly many, many people are running Oracle databases on Linux for System z. There's an article from a year ago, http://www.internetnews.com/bus-news/article.php/3656941 , that talks about IBM and Oracle signing a co-marketing agreement. One paragraph has this to say: "Candidate workloads for the Linux on System z include Oracle database software and other Oracle software including, EBusiness Suite for Linux on System z, Peoplesoft on Linux for System z, and Siebel on Linux for System z." I don't know if that means there is actually software that will run on mainframe Linux or not.
