Changing the interopmode on the brocades from mcdata to brocade (which is what 
it sounds like was done, to me), DOES change the portid that is assigned during 
the PLOGI sequence.  If the system does not re-login to the fabric and obtain 
the new portid (port id changes due to the difference in san domain id, between 
native brocade mode and mcdata mode).

We recently did the same change, and it caused heartburn for our AIX systems.  
We don't have any zLinux systems, but it sounds like what we went through.

Hi Chris,

Config off, on from the HMC will free up the resources that those messages are 
talking about, but I don't think it will help.  Based your original email, I 
think your zoning changed.  It looks like everything is in a single, giant 
zone, and you're running out of resources because all ports can see all other 
ports.
