Frank, as has been previously stated, when you're running as a guest on z/VM, 
you don't have visibility to real LPAR data.  The virtual machine is a virtual 
LPAR as far as the OS is concerned.  To get real LPAR data from hyperfs, you 
have to run Linux natively in the LPAR.

The underlying machine interface that Linux uses to gather that data has a 
different scope when used in a VM guest.
