Sounds like an HPT/66 problem.  I ditched the BP6 because it is a piece of
shit.  At anyrate, what you might
try doing if you have your hard drive or any other device for that matter on
IDE 3 or 4, take it off and use
IDE1 or IDE2. I had problems with this during SMP operations (kernel panic),
while trying to use HPT/66 and
corrected it by doing just that.

The BP6 has a lot of other issues that make it not suitable for a server type
operation, I would suggest
using it under windows 2000 at this time until 2.4 kernel or ABIT makes this
motherboard right somehow (BIOS
update.. though QQ seems to work well).
