Frankly, I was never the club-joining toe-the-line type, so I advocate
whatever I want however I want.
I do recognize that excesses in advocacy can have the opposite of the
intended effect, but that's true whatever you are advocating.
So advocate however you please, staying aware that keeping one's head
screwed on is advantageous. Take the how-to as advice, but not as law.
And when people start pushing for too much conformity, break rhythm just to
show you still can.

Ahh, funny. Make an accusation, and then claim you don't have time,
cute.
What I say is true, believe it or not. Spelling errors? A combination of
typos and phonetic spelling as I type, and being too lazy to run spell
check.

So you say, but people not exposed to various dialects of Hungarian
notation have trouble. For instance: the office group uses a very strict
hungarian, while the os groups use a more relaxed dialect. It would
(maybe not) surprise people that there is infighting about extremism on
hungarian notation.

By what right do you say "nothing but lip service?" I write software for
a living. If you doubt my claims, I bet a smart person (sorry, this
probably precludes you) could easily verify my entire history should
they be so inclined.
Do I have to prove my credentials for a news group posting? Absolutely
not. Do you have to believe me, no, not at all. Do you have the right to
call me a liar? NO, not without evidence that what I say is not true,
other wise, what you are doing is libel (because it is written) should I
sue you?
So in the put up or shut up arena, I have given testimony why I think
the MS source code will be funny. I can legally sue you for defamation
if you do not come up with some evidence that I am lying (I am not),
because you said I was. So, here we are, as a matter of public record, I
have stated opinions and provided a set of credentials. You have called
me a liar. I am not a public figure, thus you have damaged me.
You should apologize, or are you going to be an idiot?

I expect the Russian FSB (successor to the KBG) to make lots of loud,
"we're-investigating-night-and-day" noises, and then, once out of
camera-and-microphone range, to laugh among themselves and then
retire to Xali-Gali, Candyman, or some other local nightspot and
have fun with the girls. Tomorrow, they will start helping the
perpetrators by introducing as much obfuscation as possible.
Why? Because they don't give a fuck about Bill Gates, no matter
how much he whines....and that is their way of dealing with
self-righteous crooks like Gates who don't cut them in for a
share of the action.
