I'm a Libertarian, asshole.

I detest right-wingers just as much as I detest left-wingers like you.

The only difference between Fascists and Communists is who they kill first.

Gun nut? My only interest in guns is the sum of
a) What the ARMY trains me in the use of arms and
b) what the Constitution spells out as my responsibilities as a citizen.

I was saying that as Tivo can accept any composite video source then it
can record any TV program whereas the MS device will only work when
connected to a dual LNB satellite dish. How do cable subscribers with
no satellite dish use MS's system (or users in countries where a large
percentage of the population are happy to use terrestrial broadcasts).

I have so many credit hours of engineering course work that if I
were to take any more, that any further engineering classes would
not bring me one step closer to a degree.

the only "deficiency" wrt my undergraduate degree is bullshit
general electives courses....which, frankly, not a single employer
has ever expressed the slightest concern about whether I can discuss
the difference between the philosophy of Plato vs. Socrates, nor
whether I know who was king during the 100 Years' War...

Regardless: reacting with force is SUPERIOR to meekly allowing oneself
and one's companions to be mugged.

Say what you will about Bernie Goetz...a jury of 12 fellow New York City
residents UNANIMOUSLY acquitted him...even though ALL of them knew that
handguns are illegal in NYC for anybody who isn't politically connected.

This is true - you can however use it to record programs without access to
sky TV channels so it doesn't need a satellite dish to work (MS's system
will only work when connected to a dual output LNB on a sat dish). Tivo
uses a telephone connection to get channel info so has no restrictions on
what services can be added to it (like digital terrestrial or digital
cable).

You can use the Tivo without the channel info subscription ( I remember
reading this somewhere) - it costs more and you need to manually
set record times so lose many of the autorecording features but it will
partly work from any composite TV source.
