Actually, non-Keynesian economists (especially those of the "Austrian
Economics" school of thought) now believe that FDR's policies actually
prolonged the depression.

Their true purpose was the same as any other socialist program....to
take lots of money out of the private sector.

You should also direct your ire at Webster and Oxford for having the
words in the dictionaries in the first place. (I assume dictionaries
are placed well out of children's reach in your household).

Though I do find it strange that you react to a perfectly good English
word for sexual intercourse; I assume you don't have the same
relationship to words like "death" or "kill", which describe even more
disturbing concepts.

You're mare sensitive to language than my camera is to sunlight,
apparently. Don't like common English? Don't effing use it.

I never claimed we cannot know the true meaning. I did imply that
history is full of Man making interpretations that suit their own

The law is not incomprehensible. It is just difficult to follow.

I never said we don't know what God meant by "murder". I said I didn't
know what the aramaic tribes of 2000BC thought it meant.

It wouldn't be the first time; we supported such notables as
Pinochet, Idi Amin, the Shah in Iran, and possibly Bautista as well
(fat lot of good that did him and the Shah).

We even supported Saddam Hussein when Iran went fundy. Now
we're supporting Iran again -- and Kuwait, which isn't exactly
democratic either AFAIK (athough they might be similar to Britain,
where the monarchy is mostly an interesting aside and doesn't normally
interfere with government operations -- but I'd have to check).
Not to mention Israel, which is turning aggressive again, seizing
territory in the Gaza strip, and Saudi Arabia, at least as of 1991
or so.

Does your brain hurt yet? Mine does... :-)

Of course, Japan isn't fascist, at least not since the
government surrendered. :-) I'd have to check on their Diet, but
I suspect they're a standard democratically-elected unicameral
parliamentary system much like many other countries. The Emperor
is similar to Britain's Queen AFAIK -- official pomp and circumstance,
but doesn't interfere in day-to-day things.

Did Klinton purposely screw up the economy for his successor?
Yes, but not through the Mafia$oft suit. Mafia$oft has been in
Federal court for close to a decade now (Ironically, for the SAME
things that IBM was sanctioned for doing in the 1960's and 70's--
so the case law is already against them).

Microsoft is probably more detrimental to the economy than it helps.

They stifle any sort of competitiveness with a LARGE variety of illegal
practices (extortion, etc.) to keep YOU, ME, and the rest of the computer-
buying public from even having access to pre-installed products written
by competitors.

Judge Jackson is a free-market Republican (appointed by Reagan)
The Federal lawsuit was actually a FAVOR to Mafia$oft, because Reno and
company CONSOLIDATED actions that had been underway by over 20 different
states' Attornies General.

As it is, if Mafia$oft only gets another slap on the wrist, expect to see
them BANNED from Europe.

So...how did Klinton fuck up the economy?

Simple....EVERYTHING depends on energy prices...and WHO was it who
pleaded with OPEC to cut back production?...ah yes, slick willie.

Umm, obviously not. My stdio/iostream experiment showed that an iostream
"Hello, World!" executable is at least 6 times larger than the equivalent
stdio binary. Since my g++ is apparently set up to link the C++ runtime
statically, only those symbols which are explicitly used are physically
part of the output executable.

Since Democrats don't care about such niceties, you are allowed
to vote AYE in the election, regardless of where you live.

Been there, done that. I hear people out in public in all the places you've
mentioned using language much worse than the f-word. No one arrests them,
no one beats them up, people may glare at them and some people may even say
something, but that is it.
