You should. Platform heels are quite heavy.

And anyway, how do you know their acts are against nature. Are you in
posession of some secret book of rules of nature?

I have read the entire thread. As usual, you use a lot of words to say
absolutely nothing. I thought you wanted an explanation of what I said.
But if all you want is an answer ro your question, the answer is
"Neither".

Netscape is very stable for me on Solaris. The only times it ever crashes are
if I visit sites that are heavy into funky java.. which isn't very often at
all. I have netscape windows open all day, every day, and have left copies
open for weeks at a time (with heavy use each day).

IE not only freezes constantly to the point of needing to be killed, but it
has some actions that are annoying as hell, like not letting one scroll the
windows with a find open, and dropping windows underneath others for no
apparant reason.

Sorry Max, but you are wrong. Go back and read the whole thread. It
started with GreyCloud claiming the the radio waves from a distant star
traveled slower than the the speed of light. In the next post he put
a number to this:

"The National Bureua of Standards has measured it to be about 88% of c.
It does not travel at the speed of light. Neither do electrons in a
copper wire."

The fact that fear of homosexuals is the first definition of homophobia is
why I think its the incorrect word to use.

Oops.. I stand corrected. They finally let one scroll with a find open..
don't like the find staying on top like that though. Still slower then NS 4.x
on my box.

This cracks me up too:

SunOS 5.8 is not currently supported.
Please visit http://www.microsoft.com/unix/ie for a list of supported
platforms.

I hadn't even realized until I read your other post Chad, that ns6 was out for
Solaris.. I've been using mozilla a lot, but still read news and do more
browsing with ns4.x.

IE still sucks too. I tried to open cnn's page (which I do often during the
day) and this is all I see after 5 minutes:
http://miguelito.org/IE5-Solaris.jpg that's helpful. Plus, it won't respond
to the menu choice to close IE, nor go to any other URL. Fun!

The only time I have a lock up is when I using a MS application, but your
right, it doesn't happen very often.

It doesnt say in the reference I have, only that Kildall wasnt happy
with the large amount IBM was charging.

This is going to sound lame, but I cannot find the reference, so I cant
give you the exact amount.

Just the opposite for me. It downloaded, installed and runs flawlessly.
I haven't had a single issue with it.

OTOH, Netscape 4.7x crashes regularly and now, I can't even get it
to start up, it just core dumps.

Netscape 6 requires practically reinstalling the OS, but it seems to
fair a little better. Of course it's a usability and functionality
nightmare and the news reader is a complete pile of ****.

Hmm, I'm on my second Solaris 7 install on this box, and both times I've
had the exact same experience. Netscape seems to fall apart after only
a few uses until it no longer runs at all.

Again, NS 6 seems better in this regards, but only if you manage to install
it without hosing your OS.

Hmm. Well, I guess this speaks very poorly of solaris that one can get such
a wide variety of problems with.

I downloaded IE 5.1sp2 beta and it had many problems, so I decided to
scrap it and download the 5.0 which has been pretty stable for me.
I felt odd when I had to:
[root@mao /usr/local]% rm -rf microsoft

=)

no. i think unix existed for several years before networking even
existed. that networking works well with unix is more do to
1) folks at berzerkely having kernel source &c being able to add
networking
2) unix is multitasking and multiuser which lets you easily have
non-human agents handle networking tasks such daemons.
