40-year old women are QUITE acceptable if you are celebrating your
20th anniverssary together.

Hope that helps, losette.

Don't forget; you're thinking about Linux, but Chad's talking about
Solaris. He's got a commercial company to complain to if anything isn't
precisely as he might desire. So fuck him, and any ideal he might have
about how many patches it takes to get either netscape of mozilla to
run.

Well, hell, Chad, you should have read the god-damned man page. You
know they explain how to avoid having to hit 'y' over and over. They
put these things in so you can get beyond the newbie stage. Chances
are, it was *your* fault, for typing in the instructions by rote,
without ever even imagining that they were meant to be *understood*, not
simply repeated. When you get to be an experienced user, you shouldn't
include the 'prompt' argument. It just means you don't know what the
hell you are talking about, let along knowing what the hell you are
doing.

If you knew what you were talking about, you would describe the
functional issues. You have indicated you have problems with features,
such as turning off repetitive prompts. Something which is generally
impossible with Microsoft Windows monopoly crapware, but almost always
possible with real software tools, such as Linux offers.

Thanks for your time. Hope it helps.

It did. When Win3 became "popular", the only software available was
Word for Windows 1.0 and DOS applications. The forcing of developers to
support Windows, well documented in several legal inquiries, was
after-the-fact.

I have not, because it is irrelevant. The marketshare of Windows versus
other platforms that Delphi or VB support is sufficient to prove illegal
monopolization.

"Take off." "Tool chain." What the fuck is this gibberish supposed to
mean?

They can't be competitive as long as they monopolize. Get it?

Wow. So Win32 is actually the thing that MS monopolizes? Are you sure?

And GTK and QT, from what I've heard. Yet Win32 accounts for 95%+ of
the market. How precisely is it that this isn't monopolization?

>If you go to other sources, there are
>*many* more frameworks you can use.

Your attempt to claim that MS development tools (all exclusively capable
of supporting Windows, not merely Win32) are the 'core product' is
laughable, Daniel. You've just proven, quite well, that MS development
tools are nothing but exploitation of the actual monopoly, which is
variously "the OS", "Windows", or the "API/Toolkit/GUI" Win32, depending
on how the dishonest and criminal monopolists try to explain their
illegal behavior.

No, there is only one "sense". You are not lying. That is the only
sense involved. You are still being dishonest. It is possible you are
only being dishonest with yourself (ironically indicating that you are
being "dishonestly honest" with others.)

>You must have your own meaning for the word.

I have a meaning I consider "accurate". It is, however, also
"consistent" with the meaning that everyone else has, though not
necessarily the one they will recognize or admit to. Finally, it is the
most practical meaning, because everyone who is not dishonest, in his
soul, knows what I mean, and agrees, when I say that you are dishonest.

Get it?

>It is this that I don't know.

You don't know the meaning of the word "dishonest". 'Nuf said.

No, it is because you *are* dishonest. Get it?

Need I bother to continue reading, to know that you missed the point,
and are still ignorant?

Yes, but being dishonest about that thing does not preclude being honest
about some things. Get it?

You could claim to what you know as false; that makes you *correct*, if
it coincidentally is *true*. It does not ever make you *right*. Get
it?

If so, the definition you're using of 'dishonest' is flawed. Get it?

You are incorrect, Daniel. The desktop being described was capable of
much more than simple file management. Whether it included a toolkit, a
la modern GUIs, is beside the point. Rick didn't mean "GUI toolkit"
when he said "desktop". That is just your inmaginary idea, maintained
because you are a dishonest person; a troll.

Get it?
