I didn't want to put too many details into linux-apps, because it's not
really an "app" problem.
It crashes hard. No keyboard. No cntrl-alt-backspace. No switching
consoles. Reboot with reset switch.
I examined it more, and basically every program except really trivial
ones give me a seg-fault. Even the ethernet-board driver (DEC Tulip)
seg-faults on startup. I suspect the kernel itself. I loaded "Caldera
Lite" successfully, including X, netscape, x-emacs, etc., and it uses
2.0.29(?). If Caldera runs OK, then the hardware, drives, etc. must be OK.
But a problem as extensive as what I'm seeing with Redhat must be kernel.
It's not an apps issue, but is there anyone else having problems with
Redhat 5.2 (particularly with an all-SCSI system)?
