Well, they certainly are out of date. It's hard to be completely sure that
this is the cause of your problem, but it seems likely.
The latest version of binutils is 2.10; it's available from ftp.gnu.org or
your local mirror. The recommended version of GCC is the one you can get from
<http://www.netwinder.org/utools.html> - it will call itself "2.95.2
[Rebel.com]" or something of the sort, and this is *not* the same as the plain
2.95.2 you can download from th GNU site. The .rpm files are native ARM
binaries; if you're cross-compiling you will need to get the .src.rpm and
build it by hand.
