I usually build and install a native compiler first, then use it to build itself
as a cross-compiler. Didn't do that this time as the native (2.95.2) compiler so
far has been solid and fairly recent enough that I thought I was OK. I think it
may be time to upgrade again- I'll give this a shot on Monday...
