I'm sure others will comment on the specifics of burning a flash image
into flash memory. Please note that JFFS2 flash images are EXTREMELY
sensitive to kernel versions due to the rapid pace of development of
jffs2 currently. If you are not creating your own images (it's not that
hard, really, especially if I can do it) you may struggle with this.
What we should be posting on our ftp sites are .tgz archives of file
system directory trees suitable for conversion to jffs2 images. That way,
the kernel version problem is mitigated (create the jffs2 image with the
tools that come with your kernel source) and, you'll be able to modify
the image more easily to suit your own needs. A pre-built jffs2 image
is going to become obsolete rather quickly these days...
