Hi,
I'm using RH6.0. I'd been using a Japanese 106 key keyboard, and before
using it, I modified /etc/sysconfig/keyboard. A few weeks ago, I bought an
English keyboard (don't ask me why a Japanese buys an English keyboard
although he has a Japanese keyboard!) and modified /etc/sysconfig/keyboard
again. However, it doesn't behave as an English keyboard on the console. It
acts like a Japanese keyboard. Setting of X Window was changed normally and
in X Window it acts like an US English keyboard. Why doesn't it behave as an
English keyboard?
What is strange is that after running "/etc/rc.d/init.d/keytable start", it
says
Loading keymap: Loading /usr/lib/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty/us.kmap.gz
and the keyboard begins to work as an English keyboard. But when booting, I
see a message "Loading default keymap", so I guess this script runs when
booting. So will anyone tell me how to fix it? I used linuxconf, but it
also says the keyboard is a us keyboard.

  Thanks in advance.
