win/lin compatible configuration

Hello list,

I am searching for a modern PC-configuration 
compatible both for linux and windows.

Sellers in Holland are really not good at this.
Neither am I -- searching the internet is no
solution for me, because I am an amateur.

Does anyone know a really good configuration?
Or other solutions or experiences?
