Maybe I am confused, but I tought that to get a speed higher that 38400 you
had the use the flag spd_vhi in setserial.  Don't you have to use setserial
with the flag spd_vhi to have a higher speed, and let diald use the 38400
speed: the speed would be higher due to the setserial flag.
