Sorry to bring something up that's 4 days old but I've been curious about
this:

My setup does exactly what was suggested. The oytput that I get in my
/var/log/diald.connect sez:

chat:  Apr 28 17:12:25 CONNECT 115200

which is really my port speed. I have a Motorola VoiceSurfr

The relevant lines from my connect script are:

MODEM_INIT="ATZ&C1&D2%C0L1"
chat TIMEOUT 5 "" $MODEM_INIT TIMEOUT 45 OK ""

How do I get the connect speed and not the port speed?

TIA
