I've also got a US-Robotics Modem here, (57k) and use the "REPORT CONNECT"
in my chat line.  It reports the actual connect speed in the chat log.
(50533,ARG).  It's been awhile since I finally found the right command to
report acurately the correct speed, but if my memory serves me correctly,
add &B1 to your commandline?

If that is the case, you should create your own profile and get away from
the factory defaults?
