The newest pppd (pre-2.3.9, either from CVS or from Paul Mackerras'
archive) seems to break diald (0.99.1 in use here.) Everything works
through pppd bringing up the link. However, diald never figures out
that the link is up, doesn't run ip-up, and times up.
