I'm also installing diald 0.99 under RH6. How did you clear the tap0...15
error messages? I'm have the same problem as you described in your first
message:

Even with these error messages, diald will work through the chat script and
reach:
    Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyS0
Then I get:
     Hangup (SIGHUP)
3 seconds later without fail.

Anyone have any suggestions?
