Having just installed diald, I find that on booting my machine I get a
series of messages, telling me that modprobe can't find:
modules tap0 -> tap15
module net-pf-17
I believe that the tapx modules are related to Ethertap (not installed in
my kernel) and that net-pf-17 is to do with "CONFIG_PACKET" (also not
installed). Do these items have to be compiled into the kernel in order to
run diald? The kernel is set for SLIP and PPP.
Any assistance with this problem would be appreciated.
Also, is "ip" essential to the operation of diald? If so, does it
require the presence of any special module(s) in the kernel?
My machine (standalone, no net card) is running Linux kernel 2.2.13 on
SuSE-6.2.
