I don't think so for 2 reasons:

1) My browser (on the client machine) gives an error about 10 seconds
_after_ the PPP link actually comes up, which would largely give it the time
to receive and process an answer if any was received.

2) I used ipchains to log (not block ;-) all outgoing packets on sl0 aand
ppp0.
- I see the logged packets to sl0 that trigger the diald dialing
- But I would expect to see those packets forwarded later on on ppp0 once
the link is up, and I see no packets logged there, where one would expect to
see the "buffered" packets retransmitted.
- Only requests made after ppp is up shows outgoing packets logged on ppp0

For this reason, I assume that the packets are indeed lost...
