Paul,

    Is your ISP's DNS defined in your Window's networking?  Specifically 
look at Network Properties | Configuration tab | TCP/IP for your Network 
card | Properties | DNS ?

    Also on your Linux system in /etc/resolve.conf are your DNS server IP 
addresses defined?  In mine they are the same as those setup under 
windows.  And that is all that exists in the file.
