Hi !
I have the same problem with an embedded PC.
It has a TI 486 (TX486SLC/E) Processor and always
resets at the same point when starting the kernel.
I could not exactly determine, which point, but that seems to
happen somwhere between ramdisk and IDE initialisation.
(because i tried all sorts of different kernels)

What can I do ?
Is there a way, to boot in a "debug" mode ?
Can I debug my kernel in a similar manner to that, what "strace"
does to programs ?

Do I need a special Kernel ? Or do i need to set a special "flag" when
compiling the whole thing ?
What about serial console to debug ?
I didn't find much information about that all, but i know this
works somehow, because I saw this on Linux-APUS on my friends
Amiga......

I compiled my own kernel and left off all not necessary parts,
but no difference - still rebooting.
regards
Roland
