Yes you can simply name the script init. As for the lengthy rc.sysinit
you could still create your own rc.nerwork, rc.serial, etc and call them
from the init script.

I'm not sure about the mingetty's, I just drop a shell on the console,
so no login no VT's. But I guess most people don't like the idea of not
having to log in.
