I succesefully boot AMD eval board and our eDAQ system
(http://www.somat.com/hardware/edaq.html)
from linear flash. All you have to do is write your own mini real mode bootstrap
(by removing all disk access etc from lilo source:) and slightly modifying
setup.s, after it I ise initrd which is loaded from flash.
