mag card reader and LCD under LINUX

hello, I've got a small 486 (using the AMD Elan400) board running LINUX, and I want to create a char device driver to interface the MAGNETIC CARD READER, (at the paralell port), and a 20x4 alphanumeric LCD.   If anyone has a link to any interesting device driver source code that could help me, I'll be very happy.   Andres
