For the Magnetic card reader I don't know but for the LCD display you can
try LCD Proc,
it's a set of drivers that can write alpanumeric messages to a Serial LCD
display (Matrix Orbital)

I've got a small 486 (using the AMD Elan400) board running LINUX, and I want
to create a char device driver to interface the MAGNETIC CARD READER, (at
the paralell port), and a 20x4 alphanumeric LCD.
If anyone has a link to any interesting device driver source code that could
help me, I'll be very happy.
