is the client still usable on linux with these changes?

It is now. ;)

any chance you could attach a diff of the changes?
assuming they don't break anything for non-windows users, I dont see any objection to merging it into the pygui project

Hi all,
Here's my 2nd try to port haclient to windows platform.

It's based on haclient from heartbeat v2.1.3. And you need following
packages installed to use it:

gtk for win32
gnutls for win32

pygtk (+pycairo +pygobject)
python-gnutls
pyxml

Hope someone interested in this.
