Peter:

You have a conflict between two applications fighting for port 
23...seemingly tnt wins in your case.

I am not familiar with tnt, but it MIGHT be solved putting TNT in a 
different port, if tnt allows it.

If you use FBB, as K5DI suggested, you still have to use a port 
DIFFERENT of port 23 if you use the same TCP/IP stack, and that is 
what happens when you run FBB over Linux, and I guess that is what 
tnt does.

My solution: Using port 23 for Linux, port 3601 for FBB and running
JNOS with its own TCPIP stack and IP address using port 23.

You have to find out if something like that is convenient for you.
