Parameters are different in each case, it depends of the way you work
ax25, if it is full-duplex, full-duplex with dama, simplex,
point-to-point ..

1200 bauds about 1second. Put 2 seconds i.e. (echo 20 > ...)
It looks to me that you have set parameters without understanding what
they are for, it's very important to understand that, else you can't
optimize them. There is no "magic" values...
"Ax25 parameters" is the minimum required "culture" to do "good" packet
radio ! :-)
