  They're, like, bibles when it comes to Unix programming. They're easily
available in Finland, so i suppose they should be in Germany as well. And
you have things like amazon even if they wouldn't. But bear in mind, they
assume you know your C before you open the book (much like man pages from
section 2) (though you *can* learn your C from sections 2&3 and some
sample source code like I did if you know some other programming
language already - it's only logic).
