You have to copy System.map to the /boot directory. Do find
/usr/src/linux/ -name System.map. RH6 has a symlink in /boot that points
System.map -> System.map-2.2.5. Don't forget to change the link if its
there

You might want to check this, but off the top of my head 0.3.2
needs a 2.2.x kernel. This would seem to be consistent with the
compiler errors I think. 0.3.2 builds and runs fine for me with
2.2.11, as do the 0.4.x CVS snapshots with CMI83330 support :)

AFAIR not with 2.2.x Unless of course you've got buggy
hardware. At least I haven't needed it since the late 2.1.x kernels;)
NB on some motherboards, namely VX and TX chipset boards, only 64 megs
gets cached.

I'd like to have help seting up my ESS1888 (on board, pnp) with linux.

I tried OSS, but it made a modification to my startup files and i'm now
farter than over to hear a sound. It's probably not a pnp problem
since my bios start them (my modem is pnp and works).

I use SlackWare 96 with kernel 2.0.27

I think the problem is logitech won't release the needed information for that cam.
Until they do, i don't think you'll ever get it to work. I have teh same thing,

constant. I actually haven't had it in a while, which is good but i'd like to know

Recompile your kernel with make bzImage instead of bImage. That should
make the kernel smaller. i'm not sure how to redirect the console to the
serial port, but it sounds like if you get your kernel working you'll be
ok.

do you know about sonorus studi/o?

its a pro audio card (not a 'soundcard' by any means). its only
digital in and meant for multitrack use.

supposedly, OSS has linux drivers, but not in source ;-(

and last time I checked, there was zero support for multitrack use in linux ;-( ;-(

and its opto-only; no coax spdif ins. you'll need to convert to opto
to interface with this card.

Hey guys,

I had similar problems with my Diamond Speedstar A50 with sis6326
chip AGP card, I downloaded the rpm version of XFSiS_Com from SUSE site.
www.suse.de/XSuSE/XSuSE_E.html

Run rpm from commandline and install XFSis_com, manually tweak
XF86config to include the new chipset in the Device section.

I don't think you need to insmod mpu401. Here's what I have in my
