Some more details: the problem seems to be with loading the firmware: # eciadsl-firmware -v 0x1690 0x0217 0x1690 0x0217 # /usr/local/adsl/eciadsl-synch_bin/gs7470_synch04.bin config: unrecognized entry 'MODEM_CHIPSET' at line 17 config: unrecognized entry 'SYNCH_ALTIFACE' at line 18 config: unrecognized entry 'PPPOECI_ALTIFACE' at line 19 block 1: addr 0x40e1 - length 0: failed ERROR eciadsl-firmware: failed eciadsl-firmware: success The system is based on knoppix 3.7 (I do plan to get it in sync with Debian after I get a decent internet connection, but right now it mainly functions as a games workstation and I don't want to break that). This is from eciadsl-usermode 0.11-beta1 . 0.11 seems to give very similar results. But I was generaly built for a slightly different libc than I have installed. I have not yet managed to put together a proper build system on that knoppix, so I use ready-made debs. The three strings from the warnings above seem to be present in the output of 'strings /usr/sbin/eciadsl-firmware' -- Tzafrir Cohen | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | VIM is http://tzafrir.org.il | | a Mutt's [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | best ICQ# 16849755 | | friend ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
