If u've seen the latest fb offerings in the kernel,
u'll see that many people are forgetting even the need
of an fb. IMHO, the kernel shud ship with only those
fbs which ARE NEEDED. I think only shipping the vesafb
makes a lot of sense. Al the other fbs can be got from
the GGI guys, in case we wanna play around with it.
AFAIK, there's no utility of an fb, except running
vanilla un-accelerated X on unsupported cards. Its a
real shame to see that fbs for WELL supported cards
like the S3 Trio series, my banshee, Cirrus Logic,
TGAs.., matrox..., 3Dlabs... so on. I think the
integration of these fb modules into the kernel is
real waste of space and bandwidth. If u want all the
high-phunda res, better go for GGI, as it offers a
better fb layer, accelerated, well tuned to specific
chipsets, and offers MUCH MORE of stuff u can play
around with. ever imagined running 8 X servers on a
cube, with each face of a cube being a different X
server, and being able to rotate it and select u're
server? Welcome to the world of GGI! ;-)

I'd never trust netscape with anything! ;-) It maybe
the only reason u're system is slowing down... ;-)
