don't be panic
just goto dos prompt of win 98 and run fdisk
select option 2 set active and select your non dos partiton on which you
have linux and lilo.

It is due to imporper information about your os in mbr.
If you have win 98 then run fdisk /mbr and it will erase lilo from mbr.
after this load linux from any pcq cd and with file autoboot.bat
restore lilo with lilo -v
