You've listed just about all the places to play around with - and .muttrc,
as Binand said.

However, as you are sending this mail directly through your local sendmail
box using mutt 1.1.11i, I assume this is what is causing your problems.
Temporary lookup failures are common with this sort of setup (desktop
mailserver).  Relay through your VSNL and see if it helps.

1. Stop sendmail
2. In sendmail.cf set DS bom3.vsnl.net.in (and save it <G>)
3. Restart sendmail

that should fix it (I hope)
