Dear Kala, 

You are absolutely right. That is WHY I insisted that a through format
with clearing space [I take back 'unused'] would sweep the device clean.
I am sure you understand that there are utilities that accomplish this.
Yes, the DOS format, may not be doing this. But what happens when the
HDD is formatted for a different fs like ext2, rather than FAT?
