|normaly it hooks here, sometimes it prints also
|
|---> Sending: ATZ
|
|but then it is over and I have to Reset my system.
|
|If I use the <<wvdial --chat>> he prints
|
|---> WvDial: Inernetdialer version 1.41
|---> Initializing modem.
|---> Sending: ATZ
|---> Sending: ATQ
|---> Resending: ATZ
|---> Modem is not responding
|
|and than I've got the prompt again.
|
|The curious thing is that if I put this drive (and my modem) into my fast
|PC, EVERYTHING WILL WORK FINE. Do you think it is a lack of RAM for wvdial
|or for the driver, or any other hardware (Chipset, etc.) stuff. Should I
try
|for a newer version of wvdial (if there is any; haven't looked it up yet)?
|Is there a way of getting the error messages while this or after this
|happens? My system hooks, I can't do anything and after rebooting there is
|nothing in /var/log/messages wich has to do with the modem. With <<tail -f
|/var/log/messages>> while executing there's also nothing to see. Is there
|another (if possible easy) programm like wvdial?
|
First of all driver is in beta stage, so teething problems are bound to
there.
These drivers normally do not implement complete AT command set as compared
to external modem. You can check what AT commands are supported by using
minicom.
The wvdial would (or should ) do with ATZ and ATX1L3,
Try deleting initialization string in wvdial.conf except ATZ.
