Hmm dont think so - kernel panic would happen in case it couldn't find
the hardware not in case it found more than reported. So a non existent
hard disk would cause kernel panic a extra hard disk wont. Similarly
less RAM than what the kernel is forced to assume would cause kernel
panic not extra RAM.
