If you stay online for more than a few hours a day (or leave your modem on
all night downloading stuff, say).
He's running an old redhat machine I think, from the 2.2.12 kernel. Child's
play to root it.
Even if you are on a dialup, shut down what you don't need, and apply
security patches. Hell, that helps you when you have to _really_ admin
something :)
