Is X-Free4  required for a 810  chip set ? I  thought 3.3.6-11
in potato runs just fine .... I maybe wrong here !

For a newbie, I'd always  recommend packages from stable (i.e.
potato  presently)  and  just  stick  to  what  is  linked  in
/etc/apt/sources.list. Makes life less traumatic at that stage
at least.
